About
My love for fine art is what set me on the path to becoming the designer I am today. In my early years, putting paint to canvas fueled my passion and sharpened my artistic instincts. Along the way, I found inspiration in everything from classical music to hip hop and metal—each genre leaving its mark on my creative process. Film also played a pivotal role in shaping my artistic sensibilities. The Wizard of Oz in particular sparked my appreciation for richness and imagination. And the culture of the West Coast—from the laid-back vibe of California beaches to the iconic energy of Hollywood, all the way up to my roots here in the Pacific Northwest—has deeply influenced the way I build compositions and bring ideas to life.
If I had to choose one word to describe myself as an artist, it would be passionate. I aim to leave a lasting impression with every piece I create. Whether people love it or not, I take pride in making my work memorable. To me, great design honors the critique process and knows when to call itself complete—because sometimes, overthinking can kill a perfectly good idea.
I’ve wrestled with the balance between developing a distinct personal style—as is often expected of fine artists—and remaining versatile enough to adapt to different aesthetics as a designer. I draw inspiration from printmakers, painters, and graphic designers alike. Shepard Fairey’s bold use of contrast and propaganda-style color palettes speaks directly to my artistic sensibilities, while A.M. Cassandre’s elegant gradients and 1920s–30s compositions push me to explore depth and dimension in my own work.
Ultimately, I believe in collaboration. Listening to a client’s vision—and knowing when and how to offer suggestions—is what elevates a design from good to great. Creative partnerships thrive when there’s mutual respect, open dialogue, and a shared excitement for the outcome. Being creative is a vice that can absolutely consume you—and I believe in letting it.
